Made some minor design and layout tweaks to keep things tidy throughout the app. 11.11 Mar 13, 2018. Sarashannon8, Yessss Yessss Get this app if you have an iPod, iPad, or iPhone that has been shut off your provider. As for me, I have two iPods and an iPhone that has been shut off the provider. I linked all of them under the same account.
I can text as (724).-. and nobody knows that I don't actually have a phone!!! This app is perfect and has no flaws, unless you have absolutely no tolerances for ads. The ads only pop up at the bottom of your screen AFTER you send a message.
It's not too bad. I usually can't stand ads, but this doesn't interfere with the quality of the app. You can also, if you double-text, click the little 'x' in the corner of the ad to view the keyboard again. You get your notifications as always. Text free also can text you personally when you have updates or to remind you that if your phone number isn't used within a certain amount of time, it will be given to someone else.
But anyone that uses this app usually uses it frequently and doesn't have the issue. It only happened to me a few years back when I only got the app to text my mom for a busy month, and right after that I didn't use it. I got a new number, with ease, and now I can use it any time I wish. You may also reserve your number for a small fee.
For free you may record your own voicemail. You may also choose your own ringtone, and on Androids you can use your pre-installed ringtones on your device. I recommend this app to anyone. Please download this app if the above criteria relates to you. Developer Response, Hi Sara, thank you so much for your review.
Your kind words brightened up our day! We're so glad you're liking Textfree so much. If you ever need help, email us at [email protected]. We'll be happy to assist. Sarashannon8, Yessss Yessss Get this app if you have an iPod, iPad, or iPhone that has been shut off your provider.

Cobalionandzelda43210, 5 years, 5 stars I have had this app for 5 years (yes, 5 years) so it is imperative that I write a review! I got this app when I started college and did not have phone service yet, and I used it for over a year constantly.
I've kept it ever since, and I still have the phone number that I started with. I moved to a rural area, where getting cell service is nearly impossible, and this app came in handy for actually being able to talk on the phone without needing to be in specific corner of the house or outside. This is the best free texting and calling app I've ever found. There are, of course, things that annoy me (like the amount of ads, not being able to make calls for free and only receive them, and the phone number going away if you haven't used it in a while). This is a completely free app, though, so I couldn't be happier. If you want more capabilities, you could either pay for the app or pay for phone service.
For everything that this app does, I can't help but to give it 5 stars. Developer Response, Hey there, thanks so much for the feedback. We really appreciate all the kind words, and we are so glad to hear that everything is working out so well. If there is ever anything we can do for you, let us know at [email protected] and we will be more than happy to help you out. GothikHellgerl, Mysms so i downloaded this because it says google talk has been discontinued.
Ive got miced emotions about this because while i do love the interface between the phone and my mac. It has some major flaws. 1) sometimes the text that is bieng sent from either the phone or my mac will not show up. 2) their is a lag in the text 3) it wont let you reply like from the notifications without having to pull up the entire message window.
Pros 1) it will allow you to customize a ring tone for each individual on your phone for the messages. 2) its easy to use but the problems is the gap in your conversations from the missing text. APPSMAKEMEMAD, Worked okay, then they “fixed” something There was always an issue where texts I send on my phone do not consistently pull through to the desktop app, but now texts don’t even show up on my computer. The notification bubbles also stay after you’ve checked a message. This didn’t used to be the case. Garbage app, and I can’t wait for my year’s subscription to their service to end. I’ve heard better things about Pushbullet or whatever. Go check that out before getting sucked into throwing away $!0/year.
